A few points on this new Sugababes promo picture:
* Amelle looks only remotely human. Or, for that matter, alive.
* Keisha's hairstyle looks better on Rihanna, and that's not saying v. much.
* Heidi is the best turned out, although the volume of that weave is a little excessive if you ask me.
On an unrelated note, I tend to hate Doctor Who episodes that feature authors from the past, so I am not looking forward to meeting Agatha Cristie in series 4.
In other words, boos all around.

* Calvin Harris shouting out to 'German Bold Italic', the collabo btw. Towa Tei and Kylie from some years back. (Mr Harris engages in a bit of revisionist history, considering that when she recorded that track, no one was really too bothered about what Min was up to, but never mind.)
* Antony Gormley's Blind Light (the piece more so than the exhibition). I stood still in the middle of that box for a long time. You never actually see anyone, just their forms as they drift by. The work is ostensibly about architecture, but I think it's really about life. In obvious ways, perhaps, but powerful.
* What's in a name?, the origins of LU and DLR station names.
* Doctor Who. Last night's episode was Sunshine all over again, and yet it was SO GOOD.

30 Songs I Liked This Year

§ The one part of "1 Thing" where Amerie sings something that sounds like "gobble gobble gobble" always makes me laugh, because if there's one thing she doesn't look like, it's a turkey.
§ Would that I liked the new Rapture album as much as I'd hoped.
§ That Yeah Yeah Yeahs iTMS exclusive EP, though, I love in all of its MTV Unplugged-ness.
§ One of my favorite iTunes playlist creation techniques is entering a word in the search box, and listening to the entirely random results. You've probably tried this, too. Yesterday, when I put in perfect first and flower later, it was kind of great.
